The Lord Derby Suite is named after Edward John Stanley, 18th Earl of Derby MC (1918-94). It comprises of a bedroom with a magnificent mahogany super-king four poster bed, a sitting room and en-suite bathroom; all of which overlook the perfectly manicured gardens. 

BRIEF HISTORY
Edward John Stanley, 18th Earl of Derby MC, succeeded to the earldom in 1948 on the death of his Grandfather, the 17th Earl of Derby, his own father having died in 1938. Lord Derby was a major benefactor of Knowsley Village and established the Safari Park in 1971. He opened the Hall to the public between 1948 and 1955, before extensively reducing the house in size and letting half of the Hall to the Lancashire and then Merseyside Police Forces for 30 years.
